This is soooo sadly true. My wife got a ticket for stopping on a railroad track because somebody cut her off. The officer saw the whole thing and still gave her an almost $400 ticket. She went to contest it in court and the officer lied about her being in the track while the arm was coming down (it didn't come down until after he pulled her over and they were talking).suby01 wrote:i hate undercover sumbishes. yes you need someone in disguise to tell me im going over the speed limit or sit in one spot for hours to catch someone and fine them hundreds of dollars from somone whos late to work. but a crack house down the street everyone know about why should they be undercover and go in there to protect people. because all they need is fast money from people who they know that are scared and have too much to lose and will pay the fine asap. thats my 1/4 of .02
The ones here in SoCal are mostly econboxes. Scion XBs, Matrixs...etc.snwbrdr435 wrote:I agree with you there but the addition of turbos etc= more maintenance and higher costs to repair because there is twice as much stuff that can go wrong. Anyone with a car using FI can tell you this. Also if you haven't noticed almost all taxis are ex cop cars. I think that we should seriously change that they do not need V8s at all. Think about it they are driving around constantly they do not need to speed at all they make more money if they do not get to the destination faster.
Cause a toyota doesn't drive's for sh**. And, they prefer a RWDSentientbydesign wrote:

I can't understand why the police force can't use a Toyota instead of a POS FURD that guzzles gas. Mustang GT 15MPG city and 22? HWY. WHY???
I think Bill just read your last post!Sentientbydesign wrote:

we were talking about taxi's and how most of them around me and almost everywhere else that i know of around here are all ex cop cars. Police interceptors/ grand marqiusArizonaG35 wrote:HAHAHAHAHA! That is the funniest thing I've heard all day! Hehehehe.... I'm still chuckling at that one!

I realize that you were referring to the Taxi's but still your argument was that the police should drive TOYOTAS!!!!!! The absurdity of that notion is simply illegitimate.Sentientbydesign wrote:

Me too, but realistically, American's haven't made superior cars for quite some time. They're still in the automobile "stone age".ArizonaG35 wrote:Sure it's "American made", but we all know where the money is ending up with Toyota... I'm talking American Made.

By the time you add all the radio and computer equipment, the heavy duty suspension, the cage for the prisoners, and the lighting equipment, you need a large car to function. Police cars regularly drive over curbs, through culverts, and the like. A light AWD car would fail the first week.Sentientbydesign wrote:

Chevy had to compare itself to Honda. "Super Accord".
And Ford is comparing itself to Toyota "...quality equal to Toyota..."
I mean come on. Other than Infinitis all of the other Nissans are mostly made in America (for the USDM). I expect the GT R to be made where quality is "Superior to Ford" (Japan).
The need for RWD in a police car is ridiculous. Those POS Crown Vics are as powerful as my blender at home. Why take a low powered car and add drive train loss to it?
They need a light, agile, roomy, AWD with decent power.
Oh and one more thing...Where's the Ram-bar going to go on one of those GTs?
Dave, I was just since you did sound so serious.ArizonaG35 wrote:Sure it's "American made", but we all know where the money is ending up with Toyota... I'm talking American Made.

You mean that wonderful suspension that makes them handle worse than factory crown vics?rn79870 wrote:
