Does anyone know of any good independent shops that service Infiniti's in the Toronto area?

I was quoted $4000+ (Canadian) to get my recently stuck sunroof fixed on my '94 J30t by the Infiniti dealer. The motor has seized and the tracks are apparently bent.

Although I absolutely love my J30t, at that repair price logic dictates (and its also the opinion of the service advisor at the dealer), I would much rather sell my car locally and look at getting myself a recent G20t ('99 or '00)or QX4 ('97 or '98).

Any help would be appreciated!

The stuck sunroof is one of the most labor intensive jobs there is. The parts are super cheap. One of our members did a successful DIY. If you want to do the work it would only cost you like US$40 plus your hours. Do a search or maybe someone will chime in with who actually did the fix.

For engine stuff find a 300Z shop. Same engine.

Isn't it odd that the service writer for an Infiniti dealership would tell you that you need a new car because your sunroof is stuck? No gain in that deal for him.:rolleyes
