If you have the Kenwood, you will need the PAC-SWi-JACK, its the same one I'm gonna have to buy.

I must say that I had some difficulties getting it to work in Blake's vehicle. It worked in mine, but didn't work in his.

Blake, I'm gonna purchase the PAC SWI-JACK for my vehicle and solder the resistors on to the white wire, and wrap and tape the other ends to the other two wires and see if that yeilds better results!

just a regular head unit. Something to play dvd's (burnt and regular), ipod, and of course cd's. Also Im planning on gettin some headrest monitors installed later on too so I need a head unit that'll let me do that. I live in Hawaii so I dont think I need that Navigation system, I still get lost sometimes but I can find my way back, most of the time that is.....

Got me thinkin though if I should go with a kenwood or something else. Kinda empty in the pocket right now. What system would you recommend???

my man, what you just described isn't a regular headunit. You want an in dash DVD player with ipod control... the list is still very very broad...

do you want a monitor built into the unit, do you want single din or double din, do you want high quality name brand, or lower quality knock off... the list is wayy to infinite. And for what you are saying you want, the least expensive route for a quality system would be either the Avic D3 or the Kenwood DNX-5120. Both are around $600, and both include navigation systems.

You could get a pioneer or kenwood dvd player system without a navigation system built in, but the price will be about the same, and it'll have to be a single din unit. Makes more sence to just get the ones with navigation.

Also, adding rear view monitors can be done with any dvd player since ALL dvd players come with video outs. From there, you just send the video signal to a video signal amplifier, which will send the signal to up to 8 additional monitors!

how hard is it to install a dvd system anyway? If I can do it myself, maybe I can get a better unit. I checked on crutchfield and they had a video. All it is was splicing a harness to the unit and then plugging the other end of that harness to the existing harness that was on the OEM stereo. Is it that easy?
