Last weekend I was out at the local races and my car was runnin amazing. I was pretty much unbeatable by all the other imports there except for the turbos. But this weekend I wasn't anywhere close as fast. I don't undersatnd I took out my backseat to save a little weight and didn't change anything except for the oil earlier today (Royal Purple) and I put super 104 octane booster in just as an experiment.

Could it be the octane booster just didn't help or the oil had something to do with it i just dont know. Oh by the way I also had a half tank of gas last week and a quarter this week

Just help me out with some ideas why its so inconsistent

Did you do this at an actual track where you can record times? Timeslips can verify if you are actually running slower or not. Perhaps the Eclipse had some work done? A V6 MX-6 is fairly quick. Maybe the octane booster is making your car run worse. The oil could also have an effect. An extra driver is extra weight you had to deal with. You've done so many things different from last week that it's rather hard to pinpoint the problem.

A). The octane booster only made your car SLOWER, as you don't have high enough compression to warrant the need for octane booster (assuming you don't have any work done to your engine).

B). An MX-6 would normally beat you (assuming it's a 5-speed and a V-6, cuz they run like mid to high 15s usually). So don't be mad that you lost to that.

C). You don't mention what model Eclipse you beat/beat you. A GS-T or GSX is gonna kill you, so don't be disappointed, especially if you had someone in your car with you, cuz that will hurt your times noticeably.

the eclipse was a gs with intake exhaust and I dont know what else but i had beat him the week before. The oil I got is Royal Purple and I thought it was supposed to real good, but i just switched from mobil 1 synthetic and maybe there is some sort of break in or settling. And what you said about the octane booster I agree.

dont take it as an insult, but think you just had an off night? Maybe werent focused on the races? Or maybe the other drivers were off the week before? I do think the Mx6 should have beat you.. the GS would be close and you had an extra person..
