This is my little rant about my incompetent dealership, North Texas Nissan of Denton. It's my local dealership so I've gone to them for the following parts: flywheel bolts, headbolts, clutch slave, and spark plug wires. Out of these things they have given me ONE correct part, the clutch slave. I lost the receipt to the bolts so I couldn't take them back...goodbye 50 bucks. BUT, I didn't loose the receipt for the plug wires so I was planning on exchanging them. To expedite the process I just called to see if they had the RIGHT plug wires in stock. He says what vehicle: I say "1992 240sx" and he says "vin number?" and I say "why do you need a vin number?" he says "with spark plug wires we have to have a vin number" so then I say "it doesn't matter, all 92's had the same motor, spark plug wires from ANY dohc KA will work, just get me the stupid wires" This a$$ says "I'm sorry sir, I need a vin number" So I respond, "I gaurantee that any DOHC KA wires will work" and this genius says "how much do you bet they wont" at this point I just said "thanks, bye". Now, I'm about to head up there to start some ****, those ****ers are taking these wires back or I'm getting arrested one or the other. I'll order my parts from now on from a COMPETENT dealership, such as Courtesy who hasn't screwed up anything yet and generally has parts in stock, even if it is a bit of a drive. I just cant believe the guy said "how much do you want to bet they wont" since when was being argumentative and sarcastic with a customer the way to do business?

damn that sucks. the only thing i can think of is colder or hotter plugs, but the plug wires, if nissan parts are all the same for the DOHC KA in the 240. even courtesy's site just has them listed as DOHC and SOHC wire sets.

I would have bet him, then collected? Man if you have an oppertunity to totally chump someone like that - especially someone who has no respect for you - you GOTTA take advantage!

Gah, I got them to take them back and waive the 20% restocking fee. It turns out their lovely computers say that the 92 240sx had the KA24E motor, so its mostly the damned computers fault. This also explains how I ended up with headbolts for an E when I ordered them. Still though, Courtesy has no problems with this so I can only assume they are "with it" enough to have fixed their stupid computer. Also, Courtesy is the only dealership that can manage to find differential bolts for me, none of the others can :(.

they're a damn nissan dealership!! how do they have the wrong engine listed for the car???? i have had nothing but good experience from courtesy, cept when they got the engine mounts wrong. they looked up the stock ones and not the nismo mounts wasting my dads time and gas going out there. no biggie though.

I dont know, and on a 92 at that...I could semi kinda understand messing up on the 91 since its the first KA thats a DOHC, but on a 92, come on people! I'm still just blown away that none of the dealerships except courtesy can find the differential bolts either.
