Preferred car is only car. :P
AWD makes you feel like a hero when you drive past abandoned cars left on hills.
(When I was taking this photo a lady in Toyota Highlander asked me if I was stuck, bwahaha)

Currently running 17" Legacy GT wheels wrapped in Blizzak LM-60s that I got for a sweet price as they were taken off a Mini after only one season. I hate that they're run-flats but when driving in Centralia, PA two weekends ago I was glad they were in case I picked up debris/nails driving around the smoking gravel piles. :)

I haven't been thru Centralia in a few years. Is there much left? Last time I drove thru was a cold clear day (no wind), so it was kinda eerie with the smoke coming from the ground as you drove by..

For those of you unfamiliar with Centralia, it's home to an infamous coal mine fire that's been burning for the last 50 years slowly consuming the town.

I was suprised to find it wasn't isolated at all, in fact the main road going to it (rt.61 IIRC) is pretty damn busy for a Sunday around 11am and there were at least 3-4 parties of curious people checking the place out.

There are 4-5 houses in the area, there's streets with stop signs and no houses or even foundations left. The dirt pile/gravel area near the cemetary is still steaming but not burning as hot as it was back in the 80-90's.
I have photos that need going through and I will make a thread! :)

Well, here in Texas, we don't get "snow"... What is that? We usually get an inch of ice. Nothing can really drive on ice. Just point, hope for the best.

I do prefer my Titan Pro4x. It will pretty much just go.

We have a saying up here in "snow country'.

"All AWD or 4wd gets you is faster in a ditch or an accident."

Think about it, all AWD and 4wd gives you is forward momentum. It doesn't help you stop, doesn't control turns and that's what gets people into trouble.

Any drive type of car equipped with proper winter tires (snow and ice rated) will keep you out of trouble. That's why, up where I live you see everything from fwd, rwd, awd and 4wd trucks shod out in winter tires.

We get plenty of snow/ice/blowing snow/mixed precipitation and blizzard type winter storms. This year more than normal. On either side of my driveway are 8ft tall snow drifts. You see very few accidents and cars in the ditch. The odd accident or car in the ditch that you come across always involves someone driving on all season tires.

Dunno....While I highly agree about tires I have a different opinion of at least the G. Owning 2 RWD G's that I drive in the snow and then driving a AWD G in the snow is like night and day. 4 wheels will give more grip/friction than RWD alone and I surely rather have the X when driving in the snow even with the crappy factory tires vs. the DWS I have on my G's during winter.
