Yeah so I'm in the Navy now.
E-3 (Seaman) Nuke Tech pending an Age Waiver (Have to be under 25) but now I'm listed as an AZ (Aircraft Maintenance Administration) which leaves in freaking August. Which gives me time to get the waiver or find a different job.

MM? ET? Anyways you should definitely do the star reenlistment upon exiting Charleston and getting into the fleet. When I enlisted, they had to do a an extensive background check since my parents were immigrants. I even had to cede my dual citizenship.

I wasn't going back to greece anyways. I got conscripted. That would be sick though, being in the Greek Marines. I could have been a cool Liaison. I can dream lol.

Unsurprising. I'm not sure I agree with it but I understand it.

If you are arming someone to fight for you, it's not unreasonable to take steps to confirm their unwavering loyalty.

It didn't really bother me that much that I lost my citizenship. Although Greece is nice to visit, with all the economic melt downs and civil unrest I wouldn't dream of living there. It was a small price to pay for the Government to see my loyalty to this nation. I know it sounds like I am spewing propaganda about how great this nation is but it just stems down to the fact that I really do not consider myself to be a nationalistic greek. Rather an American. Thanks for the kind words VMphil, but to be honest I didn't serve too long. Unfortunately for me, upon taking my special Xray and physical it was found out that I was not medically fit to serve due to the fact that I never disclosed an injury that I thought was of no issue. I was so hoping to make a career out of the navy, but hey thats life.

I don't know specifically. Like I said I'm not actually assigned the job yet because I'm too old. The waiver get's sent to DC where the chief engineer of the entire navy's nuke program looks over my s***. If I get the pass they'll then find a place for me and a new ship date. The process takes up to 3 months I'm told. But I got a 98 with the ASVAB and exceed the line scores for the nuke program by 20, have no security issues of any kind, and have an associates...so I'm not too worried about it being denied. Then again, the nuke guy I talked to at MEPS said waivers can get denied for no discernible reason so...
If I don't get it I'll just switch to Advanced Electronics.

What? I like the Navy. They're always very polite when they're standing at the gate checking IDs.

Even a Marine thinks that's funny!
