Im looking for an 05-06', hows the reliabilty on these cars cause i want a 6mt but can't find any certified ones. So i might look at a private dealer, am i making a right decision or should try to get a certified one?

I was looking towards the same thing. The dealerships try to jack up the prices so I'd be careful. Plus if you're looking at an 06 you'll have the standard powertrain warranty until 2012. Or 70k? I believe.

I just bought a white 06', with twice the options the dealer was offering for 4k less, and as I said my warranty is good til 2012, and the car only has 25k miles on it.

brought my 2005 g35x 7 months ago with 18k miles, havent had any major problems so far... i only needed one warranty fix for loud fuel dampers. but other than that its just been regular service (fluids, filters, brakes, ect)... im at 34k miles now... cant stop driving it

my general warranty is up this month, march 26th 2009. but i still have power train warranty til march 26th 2011 or 70k (i think that is what it is too)

I searched for 3 months...both dealers and PP's and bought my 06 from a PP. Reason? The dealers get their cars from auctions and do not put much into getting them ready for sale. They are not selling as many new cars these days and are trying to make for it with used and I believe their margins are thin. If they are not an Infiniti dealer they really do not care about the car because they know you will take it someplace who knows about Infiniti's. If I have found the car I want I have it inspected and run CARFAX to learn more about the car. I found a gem. 06 Sport/Premuim/NAV with only 4800 miles on her. The guy just never drove the car and was in a 3 year lease and it was up in February.

Good luck on your search.

There are tons of these babies constantly coming off of lease.During the boom years of 05 and 06 lots of these bad boys were hitting the streets.Find a good wholesaler in your area. Run a True Market Value (TMV) on Edmunds and pay no more than "Trade-in" Value at the Wholesaler.Take it to a mechanic and put it up on a rack to check for leaks etc.Main thing that concerned me was possible "sludge buildup" in case the previous lessee decided to quit changing the oil for the last 30K miles. And of course run an "Autocheck" or "CarFax". Keep in mind though that accident damage could have occured but may not have been reported so get that baby up on a rack and look it over very well.
