How are our friends along the Atlantic seaboard doing? We lost power at 11am yesterday, long before the storm even got here. Heard the transformer when it blew. We'll probably be very lucky to see the power company out here before Monday. Have a 5Kw generator, enough to keep the refrigerator going and the router and server up. At least nothing came down on the house or the cars--my neighbor two doors down had an oak drop right on his Malibu. Looks totaled. Newspaper says 75% of homes in the greater Richmond area are without power. I'm on a little spur line, and there's one fuse that knocks about 20 of us off. The homes across the street have power. :tisk:

global warming has nothing to do with earthquakes and we've been on a hurricane hiatus for a number of years. It's been a hot year, nothing new. I've experienced worse when the scientists were calling for the next ice age.

I was at Mrytle Beach Thurs-Sun. Just a lot of rain and 50-60mph winds.

Cool bearded. I have a lepoard gecko.

Global warming _could_ cause everything from rain to drought to wind to lack of wind to heat to coldness and anything inbetween. The earths climate changes, it is what it is.

Glad everybody weathered the storm. Sometimes I think I want to retire to a beachfront area and sometimes I realize that I don't!!
