I took it to a shop today and they said my rack and pinion is totally shot, and my struts are blown. I will probably get some aftermarket struts but how much would a rack and pinion cost? Could I get one used instead of buying a new or refurbished unit? (What is the price of a refurb unit and where could I get one at?) Also is it just referred to as rack and pinion or is it the steering rack, because I need the rack + the tie rods. Thanks for the help.

refference either its the same part to the parts stores. one will run about 250 to 400 aftermaket rebuild.

When you order a steering rack, does it come with the tie rods also?

the aftermarket rack that i get come with new tie rod ends.. im sure most will.

the ones we get here dont come with the outer ends only the inner. is something wrong with your outer ones? they can be swapped off to the replacement rack.
