So, I was surfing the internet just now, and I found a site called vividracing.com, and I say to myself, I'll have a look around. As I was looking for parts for my 240, this popped up.

"The Silvia or 240SX as it is known here in the USA is one of the hottest new cars in the import market...."

I don't know why, but that just pisses me off. I mean, I won't say that I am one of the origonal 240 owners cause I'm not. But, I've had my car since 2000. Way before it was "cool or hot" or any of that other trendy ****. I did an sr swap to my 240. Which I've had planned since I bought the car. Again not because it was the "newest most hip thing to do" but because I wanted something to challenge my mechanical and driving skills. I'm in the army, so I'm not home much, but everytime I do go home and get in my car the same **** happens to me that happens to drifter sx. I don't mind getting beat by a civic in the middle of down town in the middle of the day when I thought we weren't racing. I just hate this whole trendy neon bull**** Hey lets race right here cause we're bad asses thing. **** that. If you want to race, the first thing you have to do is tell me, the second thing you have to do is not act like an idiot. If you wanna race meet me somewhere that isn't 20 ft between lights and doesn't have tons of cops and a place where we can get over speeds of 50mph. I bet half these kids would **** a brick going 120 down a road. I mean, come on, tell me you guys are getting tired of this stupidity as well.

It is old to anyone with any level of maturity. IT will eventualy get old with the rest of the mindless USA. At some point they will stop making movies, and laws will make it too difficult to modify your car and pass inspections.

At which point we will get to hear about how "played out" racing/drifting/240sx's are.

I see it this way. In 6 months to a year every where we drive our cars we will get sneers and boos and general disrespect. Eventualy we will all be 'wannabe drifters' to the rest of the import community. Eventualy we will be as hated as the civic. Enjoy the mindless respect now.

I invite guys with issues to run me at the next sanctioned drag race. Christmas trees and printed tangible timeslips scare chumps. It's not that I don't enjoy a good street race but I only run guys with the right attitude and those guys don't act like this. My wife on the other hand will chase these guys for retribution. I actually had to go hunt a guy down who did some silly stuff like that on her drive home from work and get a scalp for her. I was still in my smilee face pajamas and bare foot(I'm serious). I figured it was better than listening to her grumble all night about it.

yeah i sucks.....but what can you do....vent.....and no these kids wouldn't care about going 120 down a road cause they are too damn stupid to think of the concenquences......and chances are... too inexperienced for me to feel comfortable driving a high speeds next to them.....so don't sweat it and blow em off ...not worth it.

I think you are absolutely correct. I am already starting to get that sort of vibe from people. In fact, the other day on a local atlanta forum I read people talking about how sick and tired they are of hearing about the 240. But the thing is, I totally agree with them. Im damn tired of hearing about 240s too. I wish magazines would just stop making such a big deal out of them.

yeah after i punked him out I went to the streetdrag hangouts and had a coffee with the guys.
