I finally got to swapping a rb25det in the S13 and it hauls. Problem is no traction what so ever. I was looking at enjuku racing's car and hes running a 15x9 wheel and a 26x10.5 wide tire. That is HUGE!

Here is what the plan is... 5 lug hubs 15x8 wheel with 275/50R15.... Now I worked with the wheel calc and to get that to fit its going to need a 3.5 backspacing. Problem is, is that its going to EXTEND the wheel out by 3.5 inches which is way too much. How the heck did Enjuku get that wheel to fit under there and look flush? I highly doubt they tubbed it out because it still has IRS and don't think they switched to a solid axle.

I was planning on Welds Prostar wheel. But since 275 might seem like overkill I could always go with a 16x8 and a 255/50R16 instead because they don't make the 255 in a 15in wheel.

What do you guys suggest? 15x8 and get 275's under there or 16x8 with a 255 (Mustang size). Any other suggestions or info would help, I want this car to HOOK. Definately M/T ET Drags but think 275 is over kill? Enjuku managed somehow, but this isnt a pic off enjuku its off PhatKA-T.

Someone want to check over my homework?

Stock wheel 89-90 model15x6 40mm offset

New Wheel Weld Prostar15x8 0mm offset 4 1/2 backspacing

In Wheel offset calculatorInput on Current wheel is 6" wide w/ 40mm offsetNew Wheel 8" wide w/ 0mm offset

Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:The clearance from strut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 15mm MOREThe outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 65mm

Seems good to me, Will stick out just a TAD I don't think it will look lowrider style though.

That 15mm MORE on the inside will also help me fit 275/50s because they have a sectional width of 10.8" which means they will bow 1.4" out on each side.

Just hoping it fits. Here is Enjuku Racing's car. Those are 15x9 Bogarts with a 10.5" wide drag slick! Yesh! Tell me what you guys think thanks in advanced. -Alex

P.S This isn't pointless I have an Rb25det

i assume this is all for the rear, not all the way around. if so, why are you running such a low offset? there's plenty of room in the back on the inside and the outside. go measure how much space you have and go from there.

Yeah This is just for the rears. I went with a low offset because i didn't want the wheel to stick out to far and look gawdy. Looks like I am going to have to go with a -25.4 offset which is 3.5 backspacing instead of 4.5 . I just looked at the wheel and my tires will rub the strut of I go with a 4.5 backspacing so its gonna be 3.5". Its gonna make the wheel stick out 3.5 inches out farther but oh well I want 275s. Thanks

you've got the offsets backwards, positive is in towards the body and negative sticks out more.

Yeah I'm ging to have to come out more because the tire will hit my strut. A 3.5 backspacing is -25.4 bringing the wheel out so I won't rub. Thanks-Alex

I just made a measurement today... I can nicely fit a 4.5 backspacing. I guess the wheel faq's are a bit off because the backspacing on the 89-90 wheels (suppose to be the same as 91+) are a 5" backspacing. I'm going back to 4.5" again with a 0 offset. I can't go anymore positive or the tire will run on the strut. Sucks. Thanks for the input guys.-Alex
