ive had my 2001 pathy for just over a year now, and its about time for a new look. i want a more aggressive stance, and a bit of a lift. unfortunately, i have a 2wd so im not going off road anytime soon. that being said ive already read through the suspension lifts 101 thread, looked at all of the options, and figured out that $400 is a little too much just to get the look. has anybody lifted an r50 with other springs? maybe f150 or similar concept? again, i dont really need a whole legit off road kit. i asked this question on a different website and got treated like an idiot and asked if i had considered lambo doors while im out shopping for looks. figured i might get a little more respect on here.

thanks in advance.

dude, if you are budget tight, dont go for a lift, especially if you dont off road, it will only kill your already bad MPG even more.

if i were you, id spring for wheel spacers instead

Lifting options are pretty limited for the R50, hence why the majority of lifted R50s you've seen are done with AC's springs or the even more expensive SFD method.

To the best of my knowledge, without some major customization (which will probably come out to be even more expensive) no other springs will work in place of OEM or the ones mentioned in the SL101 thread.

You do have a slightly cheaper spring option with Old Man Emu springs:

Front strut spacers (approximately 1 inch of lift in the front) can be found here:

If its an aggressive look/stance you're going for you have other options besides a lift:
-New Tires
-New Wheels
-Wheel Spacers
-Remove Running Boards (FREE!)

Granted new tires might come out to be more expensive, it would definately satisfy your desire for an agressive look.

thanks for the info! i guess i should have reworded my original post... i'm going to end up lifting it this year one way or the other, i just wanted to make sure i exhausted all possible options before i dropped the money on a kit. within the next few years though, i do plan on getting the lift, spacers, and bigger tires. and i already removed my RUSTED out running boards! now if only i had 4wd...

I like the look of the Yokomaha ( doubt i spelt it right) Geolander but i read they arent that good in snow.. Has some mean a** rubber theards. I seen a pathy exact color and rims as mine and fell in love.... too bad i just bought new tires lol. Im going with just a brush gaurd rear bumper gaurd (for the idiots that cant parallel park) the OEM spoiler with some blackhorse running boards (OEM one rusted out). im more into car audio lol

I've got some Yokohama Geolander HT-S, but in mild Florida I can't comment too much about performance. In the rain I hydroplaned really bad once when I was a noob driver, almost hitting a guard rail and oncoming traffic. Some curse words and some quick steering saved my life though. I occasionally feel the back end start to hydroplane once in a while, but I just let off the gas and it's all good. Highway tires are also not too great for offroading (duh), got stuck in some sugar sand and some cardboard Nissan boxes got me out, then reversing a quarter mile got me out of the trail.

im actually running geolanders right now... i like them. look pretty good but they dont do very well in snow at all... and my wife hydroplaned, spun twice, and landed backwards in a 4 foot ditch... so i cant say there the best tire out there, but they do look pretty mean.

I have had both the HT-S AND THE AT-S and let me say the ats were a dream in the snow I climes a 8foot tall hill with 2 ft of snow in two wheel drive and made it not problems on the first try when I did 4 wheel it when even stronger

The Yokohama Geolander AT-S is way better in rain & snow than the HT-S. (HT-S is primarily a highway only tire)
