I need some opinions. I just bought a '90 240SX. It's ok on the exterior, a pretty good size dent in the front right fender (which btw wouldn't be to hard to fiz since it JUST missed the light) and there are some pretty nice rub marks on the rear bumper, the engine has a pretty badly blown head gasket, the passenger seat it all ****ed up, not really torn, but the back is only connected on one side, and some part of the suspension (not sure exactly what part) but the bushings are broken on both sides. I got the car for $850 dollars. Now I could either fix this head gasket and major other things wrong with it and sell it for a profit and use that to buy a nicer one, or do that and drive it for a while (since this is my first 240SX) or start modding this one (basically drop in a SR20DET and get some Tein HA dampers). Not really sure which is the way to go. What would you guys do?

I'd sell it.

it depends on how much money yolu have to start modding, like if you have enough to swap out the whole motor/transmission, and get some good coilovers and replace most or all of the bushings, then youll have a great car and then some. you can find some decent seats for pretty cheap too. IMO Id Forget about the body work that doesnt even seem like a real problem

If it were me, I would think of it as i just saved about 1200 dollars on a car with a few problems. and id use the money that i saved to fix things, or replace broken things with upgrade parts.

exactly how I see it! if you have the money to build a KA or go sr20, this is the perfect reason do upgrade the car, saved some money, so replace everything with better parts!

That was my incentive on buying it. With the money I saved I could fix it and still be under. Eh, well I think I'm just gonna fix what I can before modding and drive it around for a while before doing any modding, just to make sure. Oh and I have about 6k for mods.
