Ok so i have a 90 hatch. I've swapped it from an auto to a 5speed. I have also replaced the timing chain and guides. Here is my problem, sometimes she wont start and when it does, my tach and other accessories take time to turn on. Also when i try to start it, there is nothing, it wont even turn over. Im just trying to figure it out with out paying gobs of money to pay someone to do it. Any theories are welcome, please no smart a** comments because I just need some help.

Have you checked the starter/battery two typical causes.

Check grounds or alternator wiring. I know that if your alternator isn't working properly gauges and such will act all weird... not to mention your battery will eventually die.

not sure since you went from auto to manual, but i know the manuals have a nuetral safety switch behind the clutch pedal. had to replace one on my old s14.

I don't think that would be the problem, I don't have mine hooked up and I can still start my car without pressing in the clutch (don't worry, I do anyways).

Sounds like ground issue to me as well. Double check them all. Loose grounds can be dangerous.
