To probably shead some light on situations like this...
Many retailers (and resalers) unfamiliar with RB engines that sell RB parts identify RB25 Series 2 engines to camshafts that are labled "Series 2".
The problem that exsist is that when a camshaft manufacturer (ie: Tomei) labled their camshafts "series 2" they ment for the 2nd style of cam angle sensor (CAS) that was used during the RB production period (re: R34 style Hitachi manufactured CAS or better known to the RB guys as the NEO style CAS).
The drives of the two CAS are different and thus require a different style camshaft.
There are other non-NEO RB25's that use this style CAS as well. Along with the R34 RB26's.
So in a nut shell... when purchasing camshafts its not based on the engine series but rather the cam angle sensor your engine is equipped with.
