my clutch isnt holding any pressure, as in it isnt coming back up by itself when i depress it. my clutch master cylinder had a leak in it that i was going to fix about a week ago. i bought a new MC and attempted to install it, but i ended up stripping my clutch line nut early before i thought to buy that special wrench you use . so since i was unable to take the master cylinder off without taking the whole clutch line along with it, i decided i would rebuild the old MC with the internals from the new one. i did that, did all my adjustments to factory specs, and proceeded to bleed the system. i bled it numerous times, i bled both the clutch dampener and slave, as well as both at the same time and now there are no bubbles, but the clutch holds no pressure. the clutch doesnt come back up unless i pull it up myself. i bought a different rebuild kit, and rebuilt the MC again, but that didnt fix the problem. i tried bleeding it over and over, and still no pressure. im stumped. ive been told that i can bench bleed the master cylinder? i couldnt find any writeups that included anything that i havnt done already. is there a way to bench bleed the master cylinder? i would remove the clutch dampener and replace the slave, but my car is non-op right now seeing as the clutch wont disengage, so i cant move it somewhere where i can lift the car up. any suggestions? this is really anoying me, i havnt driven my car in more than a week, and ive been too busy and broke to go through the trial and error process. please help me!

this is for the brake master...but still basically the same...http://www.valvoline.com/carca...cid=9

as for the rest..I would go over all the lines and connections again to make sure they are good...and it almost sounds like the main seal of the master...but without seeing its hard to say...maybe someone else has had this problem...mine is still doing ok(knock on wood) so I dont know bout the nissan quirks yet...sorry.

hmm, it seems that in order to bleed it i need to take the main fluid line from the master cylinder, but seeing as my line is stripped.. i might be out of luck in that department. thanks alot for the info though bangstanger. i could still use suggestions on what else the problem could be, and how i would go about fixing it.

You said that the pedal wont come up on its own....? I havent gone to look yet ..but I thought there was a spring that held tension on it so that it would be up at rest...which makes me think two things. one .. a prob with the spring .. or two something creating way too much vaccuum and holding it tight...which doesnt seem right...or I guess a mechanical misalignment could do it.. does it feel smooth when you press it in?

there are a few pics that another guy took of the pushrod and what I assume is the spring. Also I would search for threads on removing the damper...everyone here seems to recommend that. even though I can see one on my car..maybe someone already got to it huh..lol

Let me know how its goin for ya.

its definitly not smooth when i depress the pedal. i give it a little nudge and it falls dead to the floor because of the spring. the damper i cant remove because the car is somewhere where i cant jack it up and i cant push it anywhere else more logical. the pedal stays up when up, and when i push it alittle, it goes straight down and stays down, then i can pull it back up, and it stays up. but there is no resistance of any sort, and my clutch doesnt disengage or engage. thanks for the link.
