I don't think I have ever made my "audio deals" thread known in gen chat, but I came across a deal that is absolutely killer. It started 45min ago and ends this weekend, so I would hate for anyone to miss out.

It's the last post I made in this thread.

5.0 speakers and reciever total = $1135 shipped this weekend.

At a bit over $1100, it's a hell of a deal. Maybe the best deal I have posted so far...

Add about $800 for a sub, and for less than $2k, you have a killer system. Or just add a cheaper sub for around $400 and for around $1500 you'd have a system that your friends will still be jealous of. Add PS3, computer, Bluray, whatever, and grab some beer. If I didn't already have a few thousand invested in my current system I am building (yes literally cutting the wood, building) and selling off a lot of unused gear, I would be all over this deal!

That would be awesome. If I weren't financing my tv I'd jump on all of that.
Thanks for posting!

I am looking for a sound system for outside. My JVC boombox works great for the backyard -can be heard all around the block-, but I would like a system to be installed having the plugs all around the house, so I won't need to used it in loud all the time.

So you want 110v receptacles installed around your house in order to plug your boombox in at various locations? Hire an electrician. Outdoor 110 is not something you want to play around with and mess up. Shorts increase risk of fire.

Oh .... is that what he asked for? To be honest, I am way more confused by the wording in the post.

At first, I thought Carlos (correct name?) wanted a different, new "sound system for outside", not to move the JVC boombox around ... but then I got confused by the "system to be installed having the plugs all around the house".

But ... but ... then the "system to be installed" is referring to which system, the "JVC boombox" or the sound system that you are "looking for"?

Can you be a lot more clear about what you really want to do?

Not 100% sure.

Side note, it looks like the towers are up to $229. Soon the other speakers will be going back up in price.

I already have 110v GFI receptacles all around the house, and I even have installed video cables for security cameras... electricity is "my thing".

What I have right now is a JVC boombox when we are outside and want to have some noise while making BBQs, etc. The problem is that you must put it loud in order to heard the music in the back and front yards at the same time.

So, what I want to know is, if there is in the market a sound system for outside purposes. This is to say, the speakers must be suitable for the outside environment, and must have a wave sound spreading other than a Bose style, of course.

I might install a new receiver in the gazebo, and have speaker plugs installed in the walls of the house, so I can connect and disconnect the speakers, and storage them when not in use. I don't want the speakers that are flush mounted in walls, I prefer to hang them on the walls or just leave them resting on the floor when in use.

The running of cabling is not a problem. By the way, right now I'm using a double speaker plug installed in the side of the house where the tables and chairs are located, and the speakers can be controlled by the inside receiver that have zones to divide the sound to different locations. It is very useful, because we have the same music inside the house and in one of the sides of the house at the same time. Still, when a BBQ is made, we want music all around the outside of the house without the need to put the music too loud. This way might allow us to be outside listening music a little later at nights without bothering the neighbbors.

There's certainly a broad selection of outdoor speakers available. I personally own JBL N26awii and JBL S36awii. Polk, boston acoustics, klipsch, paradigm, TIC, and others make outdoor speakers. Establish a budget and then search around to see what fits within your budget. Polk sells refurbished units on ebay that you may want to look at.

Providing power to them can be done a few different ways. Most people run burial grade wire to the outside where they will be installing their speaker(s). You can power them with either a receiver, or an amp.

There's more to it, but that at least gives you a small idea.

Thanks, I think will buy the N26AWII, $185 a pair, on eBay.
