The Nissan Altima Service Guide has this to say about the filter:

Replacing the Microfilter every year or 15,000 miles is the best way to help prevent road dust, pollen and other air pollutants from entering the interior of your vehicle and the air you breathe.

My Service Guide was in the packet that included my Owner’s Manual.

thank you. Unfortunately I can't find my service manual but it is definitely time to change the filter.
