like when you first start the A/C? mine smells somefin like that also,lol, but only when i turn on the a/c, after sometime it'll just smell normal.

No air filter, you can diassemble the dash and clean the system.

mine was sitting under a tarp for 6 years and reeked. i pulled out the blower fan and there was a mouse nest in it. also check for moisture in the carpet. they have leaky cabins and the spare tire chamber was a cesspool.
