Ok so i installed my intake couple days ago and it was all fine and dandy when today i noticed that i couldnt really hear the intake anymore but its hard to tell with the catback unless i reved it high.....i decided to check it out and found my filter sittin in the heatshield!!!!! So i put it back on and secured it tighter and proper this time but im not sure when it fell off and im shtin bricks right now....engine is runing ok and i dont hear abything abnormal....but u think im screwed or what..??? Feel so stupid not noticing earlier.....its the k&n intake.someone please chime me in on the damage i might have done already..

u should be fine... unless you flew throu high water or is there were leaves in your engine bay...as long as there was nothing for your engine to suck in besides air. if your engine bay was clean you are a ok.

Yah thats ive been hearing....it was completely clean... But i drove through alot of rain the first day it was installed and just yesterday i think it might have fell off...i guess im damn lucky...thanks alot for your input...my heart just sank when i opened that hood lol..ahhh man the new year would not have started out well..

I always get nervous with those type of clamps...

It should be fine... as long as nothing got sucked in there... I dont think theres any real way to tell though....

I hear ya bro....interesting thing i just googled "air filter fell off" and you'd be quite surprised as to how many ppl have the same problem! And K&N keeps coming up....

same thing happened to me right after i installed it on the drive home i decided to open my hood and i see the filter laying there i had to secure it better and ever since then the filter never fell off.

Damn man sorry to hear that, this sheit shouldn't be happening but I've been reading up on this issue and it seems like a reoccuring situation with alot of people, even professional installers!

This has not happen to my car yet. The cone is still on nice and tight. Ive had the part since release and no issues.

Well since I've properly tightened and secured the clamp in the right spot this time, it hasn't budged since. So far, so good. I was working in the freezing cold in the early early morning hours when I installed it, and by the time it came to install the filter I had no feeling in my fingers and I pretty much hurried through it, that's when I got sloppy and that's probably what happened, happened.
