alright its getting to be time soon to get the KAT up and running and i need my downpipe finished. I either have to take my car to my muffler guy while N/A, have him take my stock headers off, put on the turbo and manifold, make the dpipe, then put my stock headers back on so i could take it to my shop and finish it up. This is going to cost a pretty penny since he has to go through an hour of manifold swaping. What he said is to bring the car in all ready(fully turbocharged) just no dpipe and he'll fab it up for a $100 in which i would have to tow the car in. Unless i could drive their with my exhaust dumping straight out of the turbo, which i think would melt a bunch of stuff under the hood. Is it possible to drive straight out the turbo or should i get that out of my head.

this is what you can do instead...

bring the car to the shop early morning before it opens…and take off the header yourself…

then let him do the work…come back and put it on yourself.

Or do what I did. Have the flange of the back of the turbo ready. They get a 90deg bend in some EMT pipe at Home Depot, Lowes or where ever. test fit it and you will need to cut it some whrere on the 90 degree bend up and down or parrallel with one side. then have a friend tack teh emt pipe onto the flange. Make sure the pipe points straight down to the ground. Make sure steering, a/c lines and transmission are out of danger. Then have a friend weld it up how you want the pipe angle after you get it right. This may take many test fits, but you get to drive your car running to the exhaust shop. Nick
