imsa / american lemans bodywork

ok, somone please tell me where these guys get their bodywork from, it cant ALL be custom made, or can it? also, does anyone know why every single car is so incredibly damn wide in the old imsa series? ive noticed the widebody trend has decreased a great deal in american lemans.

No, I think it's like JGTC in that it really IS pretty much all custom made.

Why would they restrict themselves to using off-the-shelf aero?

I imagine the series regulations specify a maximum tire width, and so the widebody aero is specifically designed to run flush with this tire width.

well i mean there were a lot of grassroots efforts in the old series and it seems wierd that noone wouldve actually manufactured that stuff. *shrug*.
