I love R8. Too bad it only does 0-60 just under 5 seconds. Especially for that price tag. The new Z should be able to take it or be close to it.

i'm diggin the foglights on the z.but zozo you're right, the r8, considering its price, should be a lot quicker.I'm looking forward to the diesel engine

They pushed back the diesel option. The new R8 is a 5.2 liter version of the Gallardo's V10. It's about 525 HP. It's already out in Europe: http://www.audi.de/de/brand/de....html

And no, you can't compare a "budget" sports car, like the Z with a supercar like the R8. It may not be "much faster" but it's a whole other world. From the magnetic dampers, to the mid-mounted quattro engine, to the fact that the leather option is way over $10.000 (7.900 euros), the "carbon" option is another 8,600 euros ($13.000) and so on. A luxury car is just that, "luxury".

I love my Z, but I live in the real world, I know how deep my pockets are and I won't try to compare a budget-built performance car to an all-out german offensive of automotive engineering. Audi were out to beat Porsche (911) with the R8, not the Z.

P.S. Why not compare the Z with the 911? See? That's the GT-R's job.

I agree with you spitalualBut at the same token, if you're looking for performance in a car, why are going to spend close to $100k when you can spend $30k and get equal performance.I know the R8 has more luxury items and the softer leather that makes the drivers *** feel all tickly. But come on, do you really think its worth another $70k over the 350?I love my car, but the IMO fancy leather, mid engine and good looks aren't worth the extra money (of the R8). I already get enough people complimenting me about my car, and it was only $29. For $100k I think there are plenty of other more respectable options there. Like I said, my opinion
