I doubt it. Alignment and support are important. And it would only be about 1000 pounds force.

would never work

most presses are like 10 tons or more of force fyi

alignment is critical as above and plus the second you put force on that it would shoot the other end up at a 45 degree angle. sorry to fail you so hard.

yeaa but i was hoping the force of 1000 would be enough, i mean, how much force do you actually need to press those suckers in? Maybe some vice grips might work.

Find yourself a mechanic with a press. I have a place in Morgan Hill do mine. He charges $20 per link. I have a spare upper link
(bought the whole link form nissan the first time) so I can get it done ahead of time.

I don't know if you are serious, but: I can't remember the name of the place in Morgan Hill, but MS Streets and Trips shows Star Motor Imports at 17945 Monterey Rd which is in about the right place the proper side of the street. 101 South, Exit at Cochrane, go west,
turn left (south) on Monterey Hwy (you can't go any further on Cochrane). Monterey will go under the railroad tracks, and it will
be after that on the right. If it doesn't some air-brushed low-rider murals in the lobby, it's the wrong place.

I looked at the address in Google Earth, and it looks really right. It's a garage strip mall running away from Monterey St., the place you want is the one closest to Monterey St.
