Improving Bass Ideas

I've done some stereo work in the past, but it's been a while and so I am looking for some suggestions. I want to upgrade the bass in 2010 Platinum. I want something that's relatively inexpensive, but more importantly, I want a solution that requires the least amount of modification to the vehicle and as little as space lost to an enclosure as possible.

Has anyone done this yet and what did you do?
