Improvements since 2003?

Hi Guys,

What are the (major) improvements since 03. I have a lust for the maroon (brickyard) body color. I saw one last year and cannot get it out of my head.

As much as I want a M45s this may be the better bargin.

Brickyard(only mad in 03) is the best color IMO!

Tire wear was bad a whole lot of the 03's.

Ho many miles does it have on it?

the tire thing, and IMO the transmission issues, were the only two things I'd be concerned about. YOu can probably get your transmission swapped under warranty, if you find a good service guy.

THe tires weren't "wrong" but the alignment specs were a bit agressive, and the RE040 Bridgestones have crap for outer shoulder stability, so the tires feather and wear out...

The transmission has some issues up to 2004.5, the coutner balance shaft (IIRC) is in a differnet place, and the gears aren't reinforced like in the 04.5+. Most people's problems, from what I can find, are with doing mods and using GL-5 (a HUGE NO-NO) in the nissan transmission...

But I still like the stronger gearbox in the 05+

The 06 has a lot of nice minor changes. The interior looks nicer. The nav equipped versions delete the lame door that is hard to close and the controls look to be laid out a bit better.

Might be moot for you though as it sounds like you may be looking for used one anyways.

As an additional note though, the 06 has a new color - interlagos fire. I saw one but it was indoor and I didn't realize it was a color shifting paint. But it looks a lot like brickyard indoors. Perhaps a tad redder.
