Ok, so I was in a little incident which caused my rb swapped 240sx to be towed...

They towed it improperly because the speedo was jammed at 115+ when I got it out, and when letting out the clutch it made an awful noise and I felt vibrations in the pedal...

Anyway, I had it towed from Spiveys lot (first towing company) because the car would not go anywhere...

When I got it home by means of towing from the second towing company, I let off the clutch to roll it back a little and then it all went out... It feels like the transmission shifts into all gears fine, and when the clutch is pushed in, it seems to be easier to get it into gears, but it will not go anywhere.

Has anyone else had similar issues with towing companies? And does this sound like improper towing? because the car drove fine before it was towed!

My buddy has a super rare lip on Z31 or something where he really cant get another and the towing company that towed his car (involuntarily it seems like yourself) damaged the lip... and he sued... got zip

Flatbeds ONLY for my car!!!!I've had my car towed tons of times.Even though i tell them I need a Flatbed, they still send a regular one sometimes.I just wait for the next one, and I tell them I can call another company.

P.S. Get AAA or Allstate motor club.

They DID use a flatbed, but they dragged it to get it up there, and I think they put it in gear, which is why the speedo read the speed, and why it wont go now anymore...

I am going to have to find a cheap, certified mechanic to document everything - or I can do it myself, but I can not find my camera (I think they took it out of my car) so I need to get one of those too...

Anyone in the Charleston SC area that wants to learn a few things, or lend a hand?

Sounds to me like there may have been something wrong with your trans to begin with unless they towed it in gear. If they did that, your motor would have been turning over etc...

If it broke your trans while in neutral, then there is something else wrong with your trans to begin with...

It went onto a flat bed, so it was dragged for a little bit, the speedo got pegged at 115+ mph, car drove fine before all of this...

If you signed a release form before they hooked it up, they could drop your car off a cliff and not have any repercussions. Good luck.

A little incident? Does that mean a little wreck or something else? Dragging the car onto a flatbed will not damage a transmission. I towed tons of cars in my younger years and never had anything like that happen. Now if you tow a automatic in neutral without the car running with the drive wheels on the ground THEN you will smoke the transmission.

I'm with JOE.

I thought it was one of those tow trucks that drag your car, not a flat bed.

Even if your car was in gear while being dragged 20ft, it wouldn't hurt it.Plus it would be more difficult to do so (opposed to in neutral) because you would be going against the compression of the engine.

Sounds like your speedo is going.Mine pegged one time, but the it magically fixed it self.

Check your hydraulics and the clutch fork if your car wont go engage.

I did not sign a release form... They towed it without my permission - it wouldve been free through my insurance company if I had been given an option...

The car drove flawlessly before it was towed.

I dont know why the speedo got pegged, but the more serious issue is the transmission, or clutch or whatever...

Oh so if it was towed without your consent, did you actually see them put it up on a flatbed??? Or did they just tell you that?

Umm wrecker companies don't tow cars just for fun. You must of been parked where you weren't supposed to or other issues where you were unable to drive it and the PO-PO called for the wrecker. Either way even "if" they had towed it with a regular wrecker they would of A: grabbed it from the rear or B: popped the the door lock and towed it from the front with the car in neutral which would not of hurt the clutch or transmission.

Yeah , why are you beating around the bush about what the "Incident" was?

Ok, if the incident is relevant then: I had someone pull a gun on me and ordered me to run from police (one that was sitting on the side of the road, he told me to go fast - the cop had not pulled out yet).

Which, I did to stay alive... But, I slowed down so the officer could catch up, I didnt want my body ditched somewhere.

Anyway, the officer caught up, and then I was ordered to go fast again, and then I remembered I had a short in my wiring (which I fixed at the tow yard) which would let me disable the vehicle (blow IGN fuse) if I jerked the car to the right, which I did, then I pulled the eBrake and jumped out of the car with my hands up.

Due to the situation they said they had to tow it, and I had to pay $200 to get it out of the tow yard, and another $100 to tow it to my house.

Currently, the other guy is going to be on trial for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, etc and faces 30 years in prison.

I saw the car get towed and asked about it...
