Is it possible if you have a wheel alignment done incorrectly a rumble in the rear that occurs intermittently pop up. The gus who did it say it's probably the drive train, but it was fine before they touched it. It usually happens when I slow down. Don't understand it.

IF? you drove a car with excessive camber for too long then corrected the camber it is possible for the damaged wheel bearings to suddenly create a noise when the camber was corrected as the load changed on the bearings.....never seen it but possible. Is it the drivers rear wheel? seems we replace this bearing more often! What did the before and after print out of your every 15,000 mile alignment show. Most rears can't get over 2.5 degrees negative unless lowered or in an accident!

The accident theory is very likely but never showed up on viewable records. The vibration I feel seems like both rear wheels but it's possible it's just the driver's side. It also doesn't feel as tight as it did at speed and intermittently I get minor vibration in the steering wheel. The vibration varies at speed off and on. The camber I believe was close to 2.5 but I would have to check again. Their printer was broke!! I even balanced the rear wheels again at Sears. Helped very little. They tried to tell me at first the intermittent vibration was a driveshaft problem that they couldn't handle. Sounds crazy but I have taken your wheel bearing theory in mind before you replied. Any thoughts?

You could try rotating the tires front to rear, it's possible the alignment change the contact pattern of the tires.

But as tech said could it be the wheel bearings? Rotation is possible. I hope it's nothing too serious.

It sounds more like tires, is it possible you are noticing the noise depending on the road surface you are on?

This problem is more of a vibrating feeling than a actual noise in the rear wheels. Yes I do feel it a little more when I am on rough surfaces. Also when I brake-sometimes and accelerate-sometimes. It's intermittent. Sometime at higher speed it is constant. Sound crazy? I will try your recommendation first and I may have to correct my camber due to the fact the alignment shop's computer didn't even have the Q's number's in the database for certain adjustments ex. toe#'s etc.
