WOW.

I just got done installing the differential and the car can do perfect donuts. :ylsuper

I got the car sidways easily, but only once since a cop caught me.

To top it off I havent had a chance to get insurance on the car so that would make it two tickets totalling 500 dollars.

Somehow or another though, the female cop let me go with a freaking warning. How lucky.

I know i know i know.. i shouldnt have gone to a public parking lot.I never thought I would go to a public parking lot to do those kind of things but i really wanted to know if this thing worked good.

THE INSTALL

i will post a how to pretty soon, i got a lot of good pictures.

The install is freaking simple. As long as you have the time and tools you can do it. The only tool that i was really missing was a vice to hold the differential when i torqued down the ring gear bolts. Instead i just used an electric impact.

After the diff is all in there I purchased some Prussian blue, made by permatex which is a blueish dye, which i put on the teeth of the ring gear , to see if the ring and pinion gear meshed properly. It came out perfect the first time. As long as you keep the shims on their sides you should be fine.

As far as streetability,, i think the car is very streetable, i dont care what anyone says.

..now for the suspension

What locking setting did you use? 100% or something like 50%? I'm asking because I'm thinking of getting one too and am trying to figure out what setting would be the best for a 300 whp 240sx. I would hate to take it out, readjust it, then put it back in. Heard 100% lock setting is for something with 500-600hp. Anyway, lucky A$$! Anyway, looking forward to your write up!

I got the diff from Drift Factory for 895 shipped with free can of gear oil.with an extra bottle for 50 extra or something like that.

Drift factory is awesome on shipping and i highly recommend them. They have GREAT customer service and i got a FREE drift factory sweat shirt.

As far as the lock up rate, I have no idea what i set it to. I didnt know that you could adjust it. I just used the same shims that the old diff had.

I would assume if you needed to adjust the lock up rate you would have to actually open up the diff and do something with the discs i assume??

Yeah, you have to reorder the discs so that there are fewer housing and axel discs facing each other.

Its a PITA, which is why 99% of people get LSDs professionally installed. You have to open it up, and change the orientation and number of clutch disks in the LSD. That is a great price!

50% FROM THE FACTORY, AND ADJUSTABLE UP TO 100% DEPENDING ON YOUR NEEDS.

Mine is set at 100% and has NO problems putting the power to the ground.

the noise isnt bad at all. It maybe because i have the car gutted already and is already loud as it is. But i can heat a small amount of chatter when i take a turn with it still in gear, But if i ride the clutch in a corner it doesnt chatter.

I'm glad your happy with the LSD Eliterit. Just wondering did you do the figure eights for 20mins or so to break it in? If you didn't I would suggest that you do as it will make the LSD function much better.
