impossible to get into 1st gear
impossible to get into 1st gear
97 altima,always having difficulty getting it into 1st- manual trans. but when i shut the eng off , it slides right into gear wtf can be wrong?

all other gears are ok? if so its either a synchro or a shift fork.

Yup, I had the SAME issue with my Prelude. It turned out to be a bad clutch. The disk was warped and one of the disk springs fell out.benemorius wrote:It's so very early in the morning, but I do believe that if shutting off the engine affects it in any way then your clutch would have to be not fully disengaging when you put the pedal in.
