I was watching a VW commercial th other day and heres what i found out, maybe im reposting or you all already know. Well, it starts out with a guy sliding on the ice and the man starts thinking to himself how great it would be to have that new VW right now with that 4 motion technology. Then I was like 4 motion, what is that? Later a person comes out and says that 4 motion is a new thing from VW that when one of the wheels start slipping, a computer puts more power to the other wheels so you wont slip anymore. I was thinking like damm, good luck trying to drift around a corner, the computer would probably go haywire or something. Just wondering if you all have heard of this, which you probably have. Flame me if you want.

4motion is four-wheel-drive, actually, it's all-wheel-drive. It's like Subaru's or Quattro, in fact, it is Quattro, exact same system, they just renamed it on VW's.

This is general for a reason. Just about anything goes. Look at other threads, a number of them are completely not 240 related.Anyway, I assume you people realize that VW is the parent company of Quattro maker Audi, and that is why it's the exact same system. I'm all for AWD (Skyline-a-holic), drifting is possible I think, but I'm not sure, you'd need a lot of power, and if you did disable it, the car would be front-wheel-drive, so you couldn't drift anyway.

well, you CAN drift in a FWD car, it is just harder... You have to be going pretty fast or use the e-brake, and the drifts are pretty lackluster.

That's not drifting, that's sliding with skill.

You can always turn off those TCS systems

I think of a skyline of more of a grip car. Its so damn heavy.

True, but have you seen the video.. what's the name... it's that British guy, he drives it, and slides like crazy. It's sweet, I want his job...
