Importing Skylines

I had a friend look up importing skylines cause he wanted one.

You can get a r32 GTR for under 20 grand. NO motor-x

^ thats the list of companies(RI) that can import it for you. you pay them to pay wherever in japan for the used car and for them to ship it. call them all up and you'll find one to do it. ( notice motorex is on the list)

Then. you look on the governments site for where to get all the paperwork.

Motor-x did all the crash tests required for vehicles by the DOT and because of that the DOT has all the information on file. They should also be able to tell you what you need to change out to make it emmisions legal.

Because of motor-x you dont need motor-x to get a used skyline. they did all the hard work for you.

BTW my friend changed his mind cause his parents gave him a free car. but after talking to the importers he was confidant he could do it all said and done for around 10k. So adding an extra 10 is giving lots of room.

Lots have tried but none have been done sucessfully yet.. Much of the DOT /EPA paper work need are classified and are trade secrets that dot/epa can not give out.........

How can a government office protect a so-called trade secret? If there are laws regarding the legalization & importation of a car, then the government has to disclose what those laws are. Someone just needs to have the patience to dig through all the beaurecratic red tape to get to the bottom of it all.
