Projector headlights were supposed to be the first modification for my Versa, but there is NOBODY here in the states that actually sells / manufactures them...

So...

I went to my Japanese friends for some answers when I saw THIS:

http://memimage.cardomain.net/...l.jpg

I am now waiting for my new projectors to be arriving shortly for my Versa!

I'll have pics up and everything once I get the headlights...

Also, HID kit on the way!

Is that an OEM one with the adaptive front-lighting system (AFS)?

To answer both questions:

Yes, it is the front adaptive OEM projectors for the upper model Tiida!

In order to get pricing and full fitment guides and all of that, give me about a week to a week and a half to receive the package and install the lights / HID bulbs and put them up against a wall at various distances.

I want to make sure that, if my name is going to be on this conversion, that it is plausible, perfectly fit and good quality!

BUT

I'll hook anybody up as soon as I get them, just let me know!

Not to beat a dead horse, but won't these still be...

A) not aimed properly for LHD cars?B) technically illegal?

These are HID projectors, not halogens?

from a legal stand point, both quesiton are true. but it hard to catch someone on that. while HID on JDM anything will annoy on coming traffic to no end.

i hope the HID is bought for the projector and not for the h4 bulbs. because most projector are h1/h3

The projectors ARE halogen projectors, but with an HID conversion kit.

They are NOT illegal as long as I make the correct precautions to mount them correctly.

They may not be aimed correctly, but the difference in beam pattern in not so tremendous that one would have to worry about blinding somebody in oncoming traffic. There is a stigma placed with RHD headlights vs. Left, but if you look at the way that the beam pattern differ, there is only a slight degree designed for greater visibility to the side of the road. I've checked Georgia law, and there are no laws against aftermarket projectors.

Anyways, these projectors are directly from a Japanese licensed exporter and are actually insured/warrantied for the trip and a year afterwards.

I don't deal with sub-par ebay businesses.

I'm starting to think there should be a stigma associated with HIDs in general. I'm now commuting both to and from work in the dark, and even FACTORY HID systems like on Lexus and Infiniti cars cause me almost as much grief as jacked up SUV's with their lights pointed directly at your eyes.

if you must know. any headlight that isnt DOT approve and have a SAE number are illegal to have on a car. with that being said, JDM headlight do not have the correct legal issue. Plus youc an not adjust a LHD drive headlight all the way to the right so that on coming traffic will not be effect. i know because i used to own JDM headlight on my prelude and that was helpful.

also to note, any aftermarket HID will also be illegal also. even retro fit will become illegal because you modify the existing headlight.

i am not saying you shouldnt do it. but it best to know the law before hand.

I'm currently working with a supplier that did me a favor, but if it fit and I could prove such with photos, he'd be happy to talk to any of you guys.

The amount is around $600-800 before shipping, but I'm checking around before the final shipment is sent next monday.

Strictly speaking, a vehicle with headlights that do not meet SAE J1383 and therefore do not comply with this and/or other requirements of FMVSS No. 108 cannot be operated on public roads (not street legal). There is no flat prohibition on having them on your vehicle. You can have such lights on your car and drive around on your farm, for instance, without breaking any laws.

Of course, this is a moot point for most of us, as "street legal" is what matters....

NY.AD.MAN,

I've got a question for you. If you have a buddy/ acquaintance that can give you the hook up, what else can you get for the V? Honestly, I don't personally know what else would be desirable to add to the USDM car tho. Power folding mirrors? What else did they come with that ours did not?

Here's a list of the parts that come directly to mind...

1. Projector Headlights2. Grille / Hood3. Full leather steering wheel4. Any aftermarket parts such as bodykits, specialized wheels, performance hoods (not sure on this one, though), specialized taillights...

Other than that, there's the stuff nobody's really interested in like wheel covers and bras...

Seriously, I think it might be better to wait on most other things, if for no other reason than it just costs a fortune to do much else...

ummm... Impul wing?

...

yeah, I'll admit it... I'm still considering it.

If I didn't have the sub, I'd want the Tiida 'cargo cubby' thing... but I don't think they made the Tiida with the sub, or I should say, I've never see a pic of the 'cargo cubby' that was designed to go around the sub.

The price managed to shoot up because of a price inquiry from the factory. Evidentially, my supplier, Mr. Ikeda, turned out to give me a quote of TWICE the amount, so as you all may well assume, I'm hopping ship.

I'm pissed.

I was looking forward to finally having a unique addition to my ride, but it is not worth over 3 times what i paid for my wheels.

I apologize to those of you who I may have misled based on faulty information given to me, but I'm still on the search!

If ANYONE has any information, PLEASE let me know!

well here's a question

does anyone have the nissan part numbers for the japanese tiida (RHD) HID projector headlight housings??

I want to try and see if my local nissan spare parts place can order them in, they usually can get me bits from japan if I have the part number, but they seem to have trouble finding out part numbers off the description alone for some reason.

cheers

The projecter HID ones for the Tiida should be:

26015-ED21A (Right)26065-ED21A (Left)

If, for some reason, they can't figure out even with these, tell them that you are looking for the AFS Projector Xenon lights that work with the C11 Tiida.

Bob - do you plan on offering any of these parts for sale on your site? I didn't even know Nissan had OEM left hand drive HID headlamps, and that drop-in cargo thing is really cool!

Not sure on the OP, but I was one of two that I knew had them in the US. Versaspeed still has them on his car. I have since sold my original Versa with the headlamps. You can check my build thread in New Member section or my install video on YouTube. I believe there is 1 set in the Nissan Motorsports warehouse currently (or there was last year). They usually run $1500/set. Versaspeed can check on them and order the set if you want them.
