I'm in the mix of changing my caliper on the driver's side and had a question that's bugging me. There is a pole right next to hub coming from the rack in pinion it has a plastic top and a screw with a pin coming out of it, I grabbed the part and it moves left to right, is this normal? or is something loose?

Thanks

I concur--I replaced mine quite easily in a couple of hours. Make sure to mark the tie rod threads where the original nut is (it'll throw your alignment off if you're not careful) But all in all it was so easy I wouldn't consider paying someone to do it

if it's your tie rod end and you can move it so easily, you should probably replace it. Your steering will feel a bit loose.

AND, at the time that you do replace said tie rod ends, you should take your car to have a proper 4 wheel alignment. If your tie rod ends are loose to this point, an alignment is always a good idea. A pre-alignment inspection could uncover some other loose/worn steering/suspension components. Just be sure to find a good shop that is trustworthy and won't rip you off. Good luck!
