Hey guys. It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been lurking around. Working to hard.

I wrecked my 97 QX4 and need to replace it. Anybody know where I can buy a 97, 98, or 99 QX4 in the Atlanta, Birmingham, Mobile, or someplace near area?

I've got to get out of this rental.

Also, any tips on how to get the insurance company up on their settlement would be appreciated.

This is very sad news..:(:(

But you are lucky enough to have access to the huge Atlanta market of used Infiniti's.

Were you at fault? Were other cars involved?

I've found it's a lost cause trying to get a fair value from insurance. It's not like 95% of people are thrilled with what their car is worth and only 5% complain. Everybody complains... just nature of the industry. (The complaints don't mean much).

If it was someone else's fault you can ask for "pain & suffering" (esp. if you had an injury, even if minor) or lost wages for time off work.

As I mentioned on Yahoo forum, don't be afraid to check out a new QX4 -- I don't think they're selling well, so price may be flexible. Just get an extended warranty and finance over 6 years and payments may be reasonable compared to used purchase payments + routine maintenance.

greg ,has a good point; good deals can be had on the new ones.

But the used car market is also <very> soft.

You may have to spend less on a 98 or thereabouts QX4 than you think.

Fred...:)

PS: Even tho I am car guy, not so much SUV guy, but as far as SUV's go, the QX4 is awesome.Beautiful interior and supposed to have one of the best cross country abilities among luxury SUV's.I think they got a lot of extra power (3.5L V6 vs 3.0) mid year thru the 99 model year, which is called the 99.5.

I am sure our resident QX4 guys, will chime in with more details.

Hi everybody! I found one yesterday. It was located in South Alabama. One owner in perfect condition. It belonged to a Dr. who carried it back to the dealership for everything. He had the oil changed every couple thousand miles, new tire, new brakes, new battery, the 7500, 15k, 30k, 60k, etc... He even had the battery changed at the dealership. It's incrediable. It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. It's a 1998 with 68K. The price was within what the insurance company offered too! I stepped up a year, down 30k miles, and it has a CD changer plus that little fin on the back hatch. This good fortune should offset the increased premiums that will probably occur. I flew down yesterday and drove up last night.
