I'll try to keep it short. Oregon is pushing for bill H.R. 2186 to be passed that can effectively kill aftermarket support for all residents in Oregon and allow government to regulate vehicle performance.

What this means to you, residents in Oregon, is that all businesses in Oregon would disappear overnight or take their business elsewhere. Furthermore, the bill would force you to purchase OEM parts ONLY.

I'm all for reducing greenhouse emissions, but I personally think this is a HORRIBLE way to approach the problem. If this bill passes, be prepared to pay extra for parts and services as it is nothing more than a bill that strips away the free market, monopolizes OE equipment and service providers and topped off with a sale that this bill is going to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Part of life regardless of what state you live in. A reason not to live somewhere is something like crime, not the "possibility" of a legislation that "means" well, but is mis-understood, hence forth why it's pulic and you have a chance to say / do something to help it / fight against it.

Naysayers don't do anything good for anyone, but make **** worse.

Contact your reps and set them straight if you care abotu the Leg.
