What would it take to import a Nissan President V.I.P. into the U.S.?

Besides, the cost of the car?

Are there safety issues or Right handed steering rules?

My guess would be BIG BUCKS.

Lots of EPA info hereThey also provide an Importation Flow Chart

Then you'd also have to address the Customs issues.

If you get one, import like 5 so we can scavenge parts from it!

I'm not sure about the U.S., but in Canada, all that car would be good for is parts. You can't import cars newer than 15yrs (unless BRAND NEW) unless you have them re-vinned (read illegal) or use them "off road" only. A close friend of mine IRL runs www.importconcern.ca . A site which specifically deals with importing cars from Japan. He is usually able to get JDM cars for much cheaper than their Canadian or American counter-parts. Then you tag on their profit margin (which is decent) and their cheap freight rates and you're sitting at around the same price, just usually you end up with a better car, or a car already modified.

1992-1996 hG50 AKA "President V.I.P"

Sell for $24,000 - $32,000 USD in Japan

Build up your cost from there.

If you could get it here and up to NHTSA DOT specs for under 16,000 I would take it pull the engine drop in the Titanium valves from the 02+ Q45 Swap to US G50 ECU's and get a Texasoil recharge.

And while were @ it forced induction.

What Lexus,BMW,M-Benz-Dodge(LOL) or any car for under 150,00 could compare?
