What import car magazines are you guys getting, if any. I've had subscriptions to just about all of them; Import Tuner, Modified, Super Street, Honda tuner, Euro tuner, etc. And basically, they all kinda suck lol. They are mostly just advertisements and articles on really nice cars, but I can see that all on the internet for free. I want more technical articles, like the ones in "Engine Masters" but for imports and 4 bangers. Anyone know of any magazines like that? because I don't think they exist.

Sport Compact Car was the best for our demographic when it was around, IMO. Most of their staffers went over to Modified, making that mag much better than the rest. But we gotta face facts: The printed word is dying, buddy.

The magazine industry is in the toilet. I don't see the point of spending money on magazines that are just gonna clutter up my house when I can get all the info online from forums like NICO and carblogs like Speedhunters, MotorMavens, Canibeat, Hellaflush, etc...

Import mags are all shyte, most of their writers are horribly unoriginal and devoid of any talent whatsoever. Completely agonizing to read. Get a real car magazine like Motor Trend or Car and Driver. At least those guys can do more than just write out a list of all the mad-tyte modz a car has...

modified. and super street was good at one point. importtuner has been around forever. i liked modified before they were brought over, but those i have more of now.

and i keep all ALL my issues. i have issues from 1999. i collect them and when i have a tech question or need some in depth detail(like pics i dont have to print out). then they are invaluable

i dont subscribe to any of them, havent for a few years now. i usually browse over them and if one has more than 1 article thats relevant to me (which isnt very often) ill pick it up.
super street went down hill after changbang left...it wasnt any more informative, i just remember it being funnier.
dsport is ok, project car had a few decent issues. modified usually has the best pictures...
but yeah, you can get all the info online, you can see better pictures online, i frequent canibeat every few days....whereas i would wait a month for an issue and have it be full of s*** i dont wanna read or see and id just toss it.

another thing, american tuner magazines STILL havent hit the level of option/option2, drift tengoku ...ive looked at more than a few ovcer the years and its packed full of stuff. of course i cant read japanese but i did learn a few things by the instructions and pictures that were obvious.
i mean they had rticles and how-to's about getting more steering angle back in like 96-97...seriously. and the style side is way ahead in all aspects as well. back then american magazines were doing features on civics with chrome 15's multi colored tweed interiors and fibreglass sub boxes lol and pictures of s*** lookin showcars with cotton balls stuffed inside the wheel wells cuz the 4x4 ride height.
i guess all im saying is, the magaine isnt dead but it will be if american mags cant produce a product thats worth a damn. and lately all they can do is jump on trends and hove em in your face repeatedly until another trend comes along. and its even worse when they screw up info or feature somthing thats been on the forums a million times and no one cares anymore. they should know this already. but whatever, eeeh what'ya gonna do ya'know?

Lol I just want some technical stuff on paper since I don't want to take my laptop when I dooky in the executive suite. I might give Drag sport and Nissan Sport a try this year.

IMO S3 Magazine is the best and is actually one of the reasons I came into the scene.
