Has anyone bought one recently that you like and does the job?
Been looking at DeWalt/Milwaukee etc. These things are damn expensive. Looks like minimum of $250
This is what I'm talking about
I think there are, but I haven't really found one yet. There are some reviews on amazon they say it can and other people say it cannot.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:I've never been able to get the torque out of a cordless one that I need for PITA bolts. MAYBE lug nuts.
Granted, I haven't tried any of the newer ones... maybe they've gotten better.
I love Milwaukee stuff. I've used a ton of their tools and when I need to buy a tool that they offer, I try to spring for their offering. That said, I haven't used their cordless impact, but I'm sure it'll be good quality.WDRacing wrote:My brother-in-law has the Milwaukee M18 1/2" cordless impact. It's a bad mofo dude. I have lots of Milwaukee tools, from Sawzalls to sanders they make quality stuff.

$300 is a lot for 1 tool! I agree with you guys though I have always liked Milwaukee tools.WDRacing wrote:My brother-in-law has the Milwaukee M18 1/2" cordless impact. It's a bad mofo dude. I have lots of Milwaukee tools, from Sawzalls to sanders they make quality stuff.

I wouldn't say it is quiet, when it's really using the torque it can be loud. If you are going to use at home all the time I would go with a corded one like Hijacker said. You will get way more torque.Kompresshun wrote:I've also been curious about these for a while too. Our road techs at work use them with pretty good results it seems and on forklifts a lot of things require some pretty serious torque.
I have a 40 gal air compressor at home with three impacts, but I hate firing it up most days because it's either late at night or when the kid is napping and it's damn loud. I usually use hand tools unless I really can't do something without an air tool.
