I recently took my 2012 G25 to a body shop to fix a nasty scratch my wife put on the rear passenger side. Shortly after pulling out of their parking lot after the repair, I noticed the air bag light was doing a steady blink. My next stop was at my mechanics for the car's 60k service, so I asked him to pull the code from the computer. He said it was the impact sensor code, and I'm wondering if it's likely that the body shop work is the cause.
In the process of fixing the scratch and repainting, they would have removed the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel. Is it likely this could have affected one of the sensors (e.g. they needed to disconnect it to remove the bumper or panel, and forgot to reconnect it)? I tried looking up the locations of the sensors in the manuals hosted here, but it looks like Nissan sent a cease and desist ordering them removed.
