anyways at idle the fuel pressure is 38, i hear its suppose to be 43 but it runs super rich as it is, i want a aem wideband but im low on cash at this time, so what can i do to fix this, someone said i might have a fuel pressure leak, also my fuel pressure doesnt stay the same when i shut it off, it goes to 0 instantly, so what could i do to get it a lil less richer, also my plugs are cuttin out so i think its super rich its fouling them, please help, i have new plugs but i wanna get this rich under controll before i put em in, thanks for ur help

Have you checked the basics? Boost leaks and vac leaks, etc. Also check out your electrical/ignition system to make sure there are no shortcomings there.

The bov vent to atmosphere can cause rich/stalling problems for some people.

So you know, your fuel pressure is set right on. It is set to 43.5psi without vac reference; when you hook the vac back up it drops to 37-38psi depending on engine Vac at idle.

Getting tuned, romtune or standalone would fix your issue and get you more power.

Gotta be honest here, you don't provide anywhere near enough info!

When is this happening? Idle, WOT?

Evan

I would suspect that BOV to be a good portion of your trouble.

Sounds like a Boost leak to me, When I blew a coupler off a few weeks back My car Idled so rich it was not even funny Sounded like a SBC with a 600lift cam LOL except for the black smoke poring out the exhaust.

Do you have the fuel pressure set with the vacuum on or off? that will make a difference, Its suppose to be 43 with vac off.

might have an injector or two stuck open, start the car and do a quick wot run and chop it...check your plugs and see if one is worse than the others.also i do offer romtuning but you have other mechanical problems which will not go away with a romtune.

agreed, let your car idle, and pull each injector clip one at a time, see if the idle changes every time u pull one off, obv reattach the clip after u pull it off, do all 6 and if the idle changes every time then its not a injector, and pull the vac line off the fpr and reset your fuel pressure,

do you own a air compressor at your house? If so you can make your own Boost leak tester.

Just get a end cap for a PVC pipe, Drill and tap a air fitting in the end, You then put that on your coupler in front of your turbo and it acts as your turbo, Except you NEVER start the car, Only hold it at WOT and turn the compressor on, I set my compressor regulator at 30PSI on my compressor tank gauge and it reads APPROX 15lbs of boost on my gauge, But this will allow you to see if you have a hole in a coupler, or a VaC leak on a Hose also the BOV and Throttle body.

Thats the only way i know how to test it.

So you don't have a wideband, but you know it is rich?

How is it exactly that you are determining that it is rich?

If it really is rich all the time while you are just driving normal / idling I would check the O2 sensor wiring / voltage.

Agreed. But if the injector is leaking fuel past the o-ring, pulling the connectors off won't change the idle much on the bad cylinders. Might actually help smooth it out if anything.

How do you know it is rich? What do your plugs look like after idling for a minute or two? Are they wet? Does it smell like gas?

A ROM tune isn't going to do anything for you until you fix the problem, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.

20's use topfeed injectors...so it can only get stuck open.wideband will be useful here too.

a light brown indicates proper combustion...if you dont have a cat on the car it will smell like gasoline.get a wideband and then tell us what it says.

Sounds fine to me too.

There is an LM1 for 225 on http://www.hybridz.org right now. The seller is a good buddy.
