im very confused....help

Ok so ive been the AT/MT swap for a while. Ok actually i stoped because its really cold up in here in WI. Know bact to the topic. I got done with every thing. Wireing harness is in pedals and all that other stuff. But i just need to put in the transmission. Here is the problem. I need to know what the heck does the Automatic adapter looks like. Some one said they didnt have one in theirs and just banged a bit on the pilot bearing and went in. Me try the same thing it will not go in. So hit the side with a chissle and seemes to ba taking out little pieces, so i stoped. I dont know if this is it or not and if it is will i be using it over again which i doubt. The car is a 89. If some one has AIM or yahoo messenger to give me a beter description would be awsome.Thanks. Oh i have searched and no one talks about this probleme. Please Help.
