im thinking maxima! help me refine my dream ride?

Well heres the deal, im a student and i've been saving up for a car of my own for quite some time now. instead of using my parents.

i have about 13K in the bank. and im working this summer (im not buying till the end of the summer)this summer i make about 4K

my dream car is a pretty practical sporty sedan with great handling and tectronic... i do not want manual... call me a tool. but its my car.

i loveee the nissan maxima's particularly the new ones, my proffessor has an 05' Nissan maxima SE... and i REallyl like that... but would settle for a normal nissan maxima 06 05 07 or something like that but nothing older...

OK ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!!!!i want it BLACk. sleek looking and sexy. im keeping the exterior pretty standard aside from some Black on black rims. my friend sez i can get my rims painted the same flake as my car (as well as some accessories for the car) for at maximum 1,000 USD.... as for the tires... ill keep it kosher, but i want racing tires... some day... but see i need to drive in some unfavorable conditions sometimes... soo.... yeah...

i would like to devote 1200- 2,000 to my entertaintment center... HONESTLY I DONT KNOW MUCH I NEED UR HELP! my friends know alot. but i go to school pretty far from home. and my boy advized me to get on to here! im thinking 12" subs and a sick console... i want to get an ipod dock and have it BLACk or done the same colour as my car... (theme black and silver) whats some good systems? or recomendations? or how i should do it? or what would look good... im going for black and silver...

i dont want to spend more then 12,500 on the car alone. and i want the exterior PRISTINE... am i wrong for wanting a sexy car?

is there anything i can do to the car for cheap that will really improve the aesthetics, flavor, sound, performance, or something like that?? i want my baby to be special

BUT I DONTTTT want to draw too much attention to myself... expecially from the 5.0... dont wanna get caught ridin' dirty yno?

thats why i want to just have the black on black and thats about it... what do you think??

I don't really think you'll be able to find a decent 6th gen for under $12k yet. Maybe a not-so-hot shape one. But pristine is probably going to cost you $15k at least.

'04'-06 were the same. '07 and '08 were similar but changed to the CVT transmission and had minor exterior changes. Only trim levels were SE and SL, SE being the cheaper. No base model.

You might be able to get lucky and find low-end SE (no leather, no BOSE, no Nav, etc.) for $12k. But otherwise I'd be prepared to spend 2 or 3 more at least.

i dont know that much about cars... but is the CVT transmisionn that much bettER? i hearsay it really is. and what my appeal to the SE is the improved suspension and traction control. as for the amenities. nothing else is really that imp. to me because im going to put money putting in my OWN nav system and DOPEEE stereo. i am a big fan of bose speakers. my father has an escalade and i know how good the acustics are... but ur paying an extra 2000 for the name...

those minor exterior changes and the V6 + 2.5 lieter engine, the suspension, and sporty look and feel really are what drew me in to the maxima in the FIrst place... i feel almost as though maxima's have evolved to become a performance car.. like how the macbooks started gaining popularity when they utilized the intel core 2 duo chip... speaking of im on a black macbook now.. and i want the car equivalant of this! haha...

anyway... what is the main dif. between the SE and the standard 3.5 v6 maxima? is there a certain package i should be looking for??

and the improved suspension in the SE and SL... can that be done aftermarket... im sorry i really do not know all that much about cars.

the 05 nissan maxima SE...

i have read many reviews... i found Edmunds.com to be THE BEST... for learning about the maxima's evolution to the fine car it is today... and i now have a greater appreciation for the 4 dour sporrts sedan

so i looked at prices and i belive this specific model is right in my price range!

what i serched for foreverrrr was pictures of the backseat. because i plan to do some light snowboarding in this car. and i really dont want to "cramp" my "style" so what i was looking to see is if it had the feature where you can open up the rear middle seat divider and access the trunk. does the 05 maxima SE feature that?

of course it is really not that important. but i plan to love my car. and i want to care for it and treat it like the beauty it is... will be?

on my 95 and i think all later models there's a pass through from inside the trunk - the armrest in the middle popps down and a little latch opens it up for skis, snowboards etc. i think the rea seats might fold downbut not sure.

se is more "sporty" and the sl is more "luxurious". idk about 05 but in the 4th gen the se had slightly stiffer springs for better handling.
