But I used to be on this forum nightly. It's been a few years, and a few cars since my last s13. I still regard NICO as the best forum I've ever been a part of. You were by far the greatest group of enthusiasts I'd ever met online. BusyBadger, Adrians13, broadfield... A few names I still remember to this day, sorry if I forgot yours, but just know if you somehow remember me i guarantee i'll remember you. there were quite a few of you guys on here that were always cool and helpful, and I absolutely appreciate all of the wealth of information you all gave. I learned more from this forum than i did in autoshop. and this forum is what ultimately led me to this moment in life.

I finally ended up where I believe i truly belong. I'm not going to bore anyone with the details of my last 7 years since i got out of high school, but point is i finally moved back to my hometown, got a job a Big-O for a couple of months, reconnected with a friend from autoshop, and left Big-O to join him in a small 3-bay shop working as the second of two techs. It's a dream come true and I can't believe im here.

I didnt go to a trade school (or any school) after high school. I have virtually no professional automotive experience. I am NOT f*****g qualified to be where im at. But Im loving every second and Im doing pretty damn well so far. There's only one major problem: I'm buried in debt and have only a 300pc Craftsman "mechanic's" set of hand tools.

I need to start building a set of tools to prove my dedication and also to be able to do the every day inspections and such without borrowing a tool every 5 minutes... so i started a gofundme earlier today.
Its a modest goal of $1000, and I posted it to facebook not expecting much but with pretty much only family I've already hit $355.

Im extremely grateful for that and it got me thinking, what other communities can I ask for help, and the first (and only realistic) place I thought of that might be willing to help was NICO. You've all been like an extended family when I was a young kid growing up and trying to learn and soak up automotive knowledge, and now I'm grown and becoming a full fledged gear head... And it just seems like the right place to throw this out there. Anything helps, even just sharing the link. Spread the story and maybe someone you know will throw me a bone-ation.

And if you remember me from like 6 years ago, post up, I'm looking forward to reconnecting with everyone!

And also if you decide to donate, let me know somehow. leave a note in the donation with your username and tell me you're from nico so I'll know!!!
