well ive got this weird problem with my ca where when its cold the engine seems to misfire and hesitate alot just when it gets into boost. after it hits normal operating temperature it clears it self and runs with no hesitation or with very slight hesitation. ive tried new coil packs, new engine temp sensor, check for continuity on the knock sensor wire, maf wires ,tps wires. checked all grounds and added more grounds. the only thing i havent changed yet is the knock sensor but i doubt its the problem since this only happens when the engine temp is cold. i have also tried new spark plugs and that doesnt help. im running 10psi of boost off a ca t25 modified with a sr t25 compressor housing with stock intercooler

The little Grey cold start valve or AIV is faulty.

i opened it and it looks good its not stuck or anything its clean too but i do get 76 ohms of resistance from it and the fsm say you need 70ohms approximately.

Probably stuck closed or partially open. Always the culprit, but good luck finding a new one.

:withstup I have yet to find one that will bolt up and work correctly. The closest thing I found was one from a Sentra (I think) but the plug was different and I don't think it would have bolted up. The problem is the most of them don't pass through like the CA one does and they feed directly to the manifold.

When it's cold it should be open completely, then as the car starts it should close. The problem is that most of them don't move, or don't open or shut completely. Mine was completely stuck open so the car constantly idled at like 1200rpm. It started great when it was cold, but it was a pain otherwise.

might could try advancing the time a degree that might help ya out a little. Since you have the knock sensor hooked up it shouldnt hurt you at all

hmm. mine is stuck but the car runs great. sometimes it idles at 1200rpm, but about 85% of the time it starts and idles at 750-800rpm. boy does it start fast though, one turn is all it ever takes to fire it up. i guess in alabama cold starts really arent an issue seeing as its always 90 degrees with 100% humidity.

mine was completely stuck but i took a screwdriver and some brake cleaner, then wd-40 to it and now it half-works. might want to try that with yours. or you could always just let it warm up for a few minutes before you "thrape the knackers off it".
