ok so my car has a high idle. around 1800rpm. ive checked my tps, iacv, coolant temp sensor and timing. there all good. i just did my plugs and wires. my speed sensor is toast so i decided to unplug it because it was adding up some km when i was just idling. after i unplugged it my car was idleing at 750 rpm. ran good and everything. plugged my speed sensor back in and it went back to idling at 1800rpm. what does a speed sensor have to do with my idle? it is confusing as hell

Not sure what it has to do with it BUT it sounds like the problem. Replace it

There is a rolling idle that is different from your stopped idle. If your speed sensor is adding mileage, then that might be the problem. I would take a meter and double check the function of the sensor before you go just changing it out in case it is a wiring problem.

you could get a programer that might solve the problem but those can get pricey

thats like putting a bandaid on a flat tire. you want to fix the original problem, not cover it up
