Iv'e spent soo much s$$t on my car and im not satisfied with the performance. Iv'e installed the HKS Hi-Power Titanium Exhaust,JWT Pop Charger,STILLEN Hi-Flow Catalytic Converters,Motordyne MREV2,Motordyne Plenum Spacer w/ ISO Thermal Gasket, and NISMO R-Tune Header. When i watch the videos on YouTube people put some minor parts on to their car's and they seem to shift at about 6000rpm when in my car like at 3500rpm. Do i have to Adjust the rpm settings??? cuz i have it set at 8000rpm. Please i need some advice...Im seriously thinking of selling/trading in my car. Please HELP

What are you saying here? That your transmission shifts too early? It has a manual mode. 8000rpm? unless you have rebuilt your engine with pistons and cams and springs and rods and ecm tuning, it'll disintegrate at that engine speed. If you've taken it past 7000, then your performance is probably bad because the engine is damaged internally and you dont know it. I've driven friends G35's with half your mods and they run plenty freakin fast. Something is wrong with your car.

Did you just bolt this stuff on or did you have the it done and tuned afterwards?

I think you have a plastic cup stuck in your intake.

What is this?

You may want to fill in some more information about what the hell you are talking about or what type of car you have maybe we could help you.

Are you talking about the shift light? Do you have an automatic? What year? How many miles?Who did your install?Coupe or Sedan? If Sedan X or rwd?

What are you looking for out of your car?

Try to work with us a little here.

I have a 06 G35 coupe stick with 25,000miles. Ive installed the mods at Nissanperformance dealer. i just dont understand why people with an aftermarket air intake can shift at 6000rpm when i have more mods and shift at 3500rpm.I think that maybe one of my mods is making my car to lag.Is it good to shift more thaan 3500rpm??? My car has an needle adjustor to shift at different rpm settings do you think that might be the problem??? Is it my engine???and if it is i dont have the engine light on or any other sensor.

Dude, sell the car. Let someone else who might know what they are doing enjoy it.

I really don't understand what you mean by the car shifting if it is a stick you should be able to shift whenever you feel the desire.

The case of the plastic cup:

You decide to clean your K&N filters and you need to let them dry and decide to reinstall the next day. Since there are critter present you worry about getting one inside the intake since on a 300 m it is now a direct shot from the fender well inlet to the engine without a filter in the box. So you place a plastic cup in the outlet of the filter box.

Now the next day you decide to go to the movie and you put in the filter. You start the car and you drive down the road trying to figure out who installed the strange new whistle. You can go at normal speeds but it takes forever to get there. Once at the movie all of a sudden it hits you what just may be the source of the whistle.

If he has to shift at 3500 rpm I would start looking for the plastic cup.

Meet me this weekend and I'll show you what your car is capable of.

If you're shifting when the shift light blinks, someone needs to you. That shift light isn't like a sports shift light on an aftermarket tachometer. It's a cute little reminder light. I usually set mine at a RPM that is correspondent to my driving for that trip (if I remember).

If you're trying to save gas, set it low (3000-3500). If you're just trying to keep yourself from hitting redline, set it at 6500.

But seriously, email me and I'd be happy to drive your car or have you ride along in mine (05 6MT Coupe).

Somebody with a 6MT please teach this kid how to set the shift light. He obviously has no idea why it comes on and thinks he is 'supposed to' shift at the light.

Up-Shift Indicator LightThe up-shift indicator light is located beneath REV (which is permanently illuminated). While driving, the indicator light lights up to indicate ‘shift point’ or time to up-shift.• The indicator light will begin flashing about 500 RPM before a presetengine RPM shift point is reached in any gear. Then, when theactual pre-set RPM shift point is reached, the indicator will stopflashing and remain ON.• You may set the engine RPM shift point between 2,000 and 8,000RPM by increments of 100 or 500. Use the reset knob to change theRPM shift point setting.NOTE: To deactivate the up-shift indicator light, set the shift point figure at above 7,900 RPM(the initial factory setting is 8,000 RPM).

Changing The RPM Shift Point Setting:1. Push the reset knob until the engine RPM shift point figure is shown in thedisplay. You may need to page through Trip Odometer A and/or B displays inorder to view the RPM shift point figure.2. Push the reset knob again for more than 2 seconds. The engine RPM shiftpoint figure will blink for approximately 5 seconds.Change the shift point setting while the RPM figure is blinking:• by increments of 100 RPM, push and quickly release the reset knob.• by increments of 500 RPM, push and hold the reset knob.3. When you reach the RPM shift point setting you desire, stop pressing thereset knob. The shift point figure will blink for approximately 5 secondsand then stop blinking, indicating it is set.
