i broke a screw in the head for the cam and striped one. i put the engine in top dead center and the cams were facing in, was that right. i see so many pictures and they give me different wase. dose someone have a picture that shows me the right way

edit: wait what, you broke the bolt that attaches the cam sprocket to the cam?

well, you want TDC on compression stroke. What do the timing marks look like? If you turn that crank so the cams are pointing out, where is that #1 piston?

Ahhh, that's not horribly bad. A machine shop might be able to get it out. they may even be nice enough guys to helicoil or use other means to fix the stripped one. Call around, one of them will at least stear you in the right direction.

that sucks dude... but dont give up. nothing unfixable. if machine shops tell you they cant do it, its probly cause they dont want to do it. good luck.

i got the broken one out but need to fix the striped one. theres no machine shop where i live. what size retap do i need for the striped one. my auto parts stores where i live suck. going to have to go out of town to get one.
