ok as i mentioned in another thread i just bought a black 240sx a few weeks ago and i have on the way a r34 gtr front clip, r34 computer and monitor screen, and an s15 silvia front end conversion. any way after i get all that installed what turbo's should i use? im not an expert in the turbo department but iv been told ball bearing t88 turbo's were best so i was thinking 2 t88's. but i was woundering what you guys thought. also i have a pair of r34 tails and i was thinking of swaping them on the car but i think there a little big for the car but agin do you think they would be to big?

go with the stock turbo's, they spool really fast, almost no lag. I've heard you can hit 600hp's easy on the stock turbos. I'm going from what I've heard though. I only wish I was speaking from experience.

Just get one big turbo, like a T-76...

you can't use a 240 tranny.you have to use a rb25 tranny, you can't use the rb26.

yoou can use the rb26 gearbox but you need to modify it by placing brackets over where the imput shafts go I know of some one doing this in an r32. but the rb25 box is the best.as for turbo just get a big t4 like a t04 r and you should be right is 700 hp enough?meggala

yeah well its going to be a while now because my dad called his parts guy in japan since i cant speek japanise and he told my dad that prices have jumped way high since all os nissan 100 rb26 extra motors have sold out. so its gonna be 6k just for the clip. but hes going to go to an auction and just buy me a whole r34 gtr for 15k and send it to me and than i can do the swap and sell the rest of the parts and make some money. but then i got to thinking f*ck the swap i wana send it down to motorex and leagalize it and sell my 240sx. and 700hp isnt enough ever since i rode in my dads friend 1000hp r32 last summer when i visited japan. but yeah i can have a fully leagal r34 gtr for 33-34k instead of the 80-90k motorex price.

oh ok well thats nice the only car i like more than my 240 is the skyline so good luck and i heard that the t-88 34-D is one of the best turbines for peak hp many famous tuning houses like signal auto use it on thier rb26's sucessfully pulling over 1000 hp

A pair of T-88s? That's just absolutely moronic.

You want a drag car that doesn't make power till 5,000rpm? Get a T-88.

Otherwise, get your *** out of the Fast and the Furious, and get a 04 or 04r. Better yet, T3/4 hybrid twins, ballbearing, on a nice Veilside manifold.

And I'd LOVE to see when you get that Skyline over here.. yeah.. right.. that'll happen.. BWHAHHAHAWHAWAHHAHAHHAHAHHHA.

I say go for a pair of HKS GT2835s. The BB construction allows relatively quick spool up vs. a big single, and they will make well over 600whp. I have Garrett GT25BB turbos on my Z, and they spool up very quickly.

Yea I was about t say that too. How pointless it would be to have not 1 but 2 T88s, why so you never make full boost on em and your bogging out at a light when ya try and floor it and then you only have fun on a freeway. Come on now. But yea the pair of HKS GT28s is a nice combo. Or just one BFT (big ****ing turbo) like the T88 ya want

I do want to post and say this: choosing the correct turbo for your application is complicated. You need to have a thorough understanding of a minimum of the following:

Desired application (road racing, drag, top speed, etc) and it's unique needs (responsiveness, big numbers, top end, low end, etc., and the proper balance of all those).Engine throughput (x CFM @ x VELOCITY @ x RPM @ x THROTTLE LOAD)Turbo Theory (Adbiatic efficiency, compressor and impeller maps, etc)Turbo Design (Ball-bearing vs shaft, hybrid vs pure, blade design, A/R trim, etc)

And finally, the know-how to put it all together. My advice to you is to either stick with a tried and true setup, or get the books out and start learning.
